Today, the 30th of August is the official release date of “Play”, a brand new track created by the DJs and music producers K-391, Alan Walker, Tungevaag and Mangoo. Released via Asia-based dance label, Liquid State,”Play” samples and revives the hit song “Eurodancer” that was originally released by Mangoo in 2000. With “Play”, the Nordic quartet want to inspire upcoming bedroom producers to continue working with music, since all co-producers started their own music careers in a similar way: By themselves, in their bedroom with a computer connected to the internet.
The popular and well-known track “Eurodancer” by Mangoo has now been reworked by four United Screens Music partners: Mangoo himself, Alan Walker, K-391 and Tungevaag. They came together and created “Play” with the intention of honouring the community of bedroom producers and Youtube that gave birth to them as music producers and DJs. With the new song they want to inspire upcoming stars to continue to produce music. In addition to the release of “Play”, they will also be arranging a remix competition for anyone to participate in. Three upcoming music producers will be selected to create their own remix of the track, with each winner getting the opportunity to team up with either Alan Walker, K-391 or Tungevaag and create a new remix of the track together with one of them.
“My track “Eurodancer” was produced during the 2000s when I was sitting at home playing the piano. It feels so cool and unreal how successful the song became and that I’ve now, almost 20 years later, have reworked it with three extremely talented music producers, said Mangoo. “I really think and hope that “Play” has the qualities to become equally successful as “Eurodancer” was back in the 2000s.”
The release of the new track “Play” is an interactive campaign. The audience have followed the development of the song’s pre-release in real-time via a “live chat” website with the name www.p74y.com. During this part of the campaign, fans have got to know more about Alan Walker, K-391, Tungevaag and Mangoo, since the audience has followed them during the entire release process.
“For me, it’s really important to activate my fans and followers in my releases and at the same time encourage them to produce and develop music together with each other and other producers,” said Alan Walker. “The release of “Play” is an exact example of that and I’m so excited for when the song will be available for the public.”
